Never not changing
I’ve changed the design of the site. Since I started building websites back in the early 2000’s, this has always been the case. Every couple months. This time it’s following the current theme in my life of learning Irish.
I see some other Bear users that change their design frequently as well. Some may see this as a lack of satisfaction in their design or appearance. I don’t think that’s the case at all. I absolutely love the previous design my site had. In fact, I’ll probably bring it back at some point.
No. See, I think it speaks to the personality types that tend to blog or gravitate towards building personal sites for themselves in general. We have a need to create. A drive to express ourselves. But people don’t stay stagnant throughout life. They change.
Day-to-day I find myself feeling different. I have a different mood for the music I want to listen to. I have a different interest I want to research. A different vibe to project.
The only way to express ourselves accurately? Accept change. Embrace it. It’s not even something that most people like myself probably even actively think about (I know I don’t). It’s just something that you do. We are never not changing… why shouldn’t our sites be the same?
He knows changes aren’t permanent. But change is.
