I don't want people to know our recipes
My wife makes some amazing food and desserts. We recently took some to a Fourth of July cookout and people loved them. Of course, we had a couple folks ask for the recipes.
I can't explain it, but I absolutely did not want them to know. It's like.. if they knew how she made these, then it wouldn't be special when she brings it for them. I want those types of things to remain hers/ours and be something they remember about her. "Man, her [insert dish] is the absolute best!"
Not only is it a great accolade for her to hold, but it's a point of pride for myself. MY wife makes these amazing dishes. MY wife has the secret recipe.
Seems so silly, considering that any recipe you can imagine is now easily obtainable online. But I think it lends to that idea that we all want to be special or have something unique that we can offer to others.
Funniest thing about all this? She doesn't care at all. She willingly tells others every detail about the process. It's a stupid, selfish thing of mine.
Hope everyone had a great weekend.
