Bittersweet weekend

This weekend was amazing. We took our kids to see a live show featuring some of their favorite characters from tv. Their faces, laughter, dancing, holding hands while walking together… there’s simply NOTHING on this planet or in this life which tops that.

Then our oldest got to go skating with a cousin today. Grinning ear to ear from the time they left to when they got back home.

Our youngest has been saying so much more and expressing themself in the funniest and most adorable ways.

Low amounts of screen time, lots of cuddling. This weekend kicked so much ass.

It’s coming to a bittersweet end, though. We return back to not seeing them for 9+ hours of the day as the work/school week starts. Almost brings a tear to my eye, for real.

On top of that… I just finished swapping out the child car seat with a booster seat for our oldest. It’s officially the end of an era. My heart is breaking, yet entirely full from days just like today and yesterday.

Raising kids is so worth it. But only if you’re strong enough. Sometimes I wonder that about myself as I nearly break down at the thought of watching them grow up.

Damn.
